We welcomed the Pre K-K kids with a brief name game and game of Simon Says! We then went to the orchard to pick mulberries and raspberries! We also got to track the progress of some of the other plants including grapes. The kids loved taking part of the farming! They also picked up litter around the neighborhood! This left the area almost spotless!
We had a brief snack of crackers before we started SPARK where the kids played soccer! Soccer helps improve hand eye coordination. It also helped build team work and endurance!
After SPARK our director, Aster, went over basic plant science! She taught the kids what a plant needs to survive (water, nutrients, soil, sun)! She also went over the parts of the plants including the flower, leaves stem and roots. They then planted okra outside in the garden!
For lunch we had spaghetti, garlic toast, and a salad!
Miss Kathy then went over hand washing, it's importance and how to wash your hands correctly! They finished health with a worksheet discovering when's an appropriate time to wash their hands!
Then Jack and Olivia read The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food by Stan & Jan Berenstain and Tops & Bottoms by Janet Stevens!
We ended the day with a few indoor games due to the rain! We played telephone, and heads up seven up!
